Default Head Unit Problems- Just a blown fuse?

    Gday,

I had to pull the battery out of my car the other day and after I put it back in my head unit won't turn back on. I've got a Pioneer DEH- P4650MP head unit, so I was thinking I probably just popped the fuse, but didnt wanna start pulling things apart without knowing the possible problems. This probably sounds stupid but I know the terminals were around the wrong way for a couple of seconds whilst reconnecting the battery, so maybe that caused the fuse to pop? I hope its nothing major.

So basically its got no power running to it at all.

    Anyone info would be great.

    Hey there Redliner,

By the sounds of it yes u have blown the fuse as to which one u would need to check 3 fuses, 2 located in the fuse box of the car and the other one on the back of the headunit.....(I am pretty certain that pioneer have a fuse on the back of the unit....) Check to see if your interior light works....and your cig lighter......I find the easiest way to check fuses apart from pulling all of them out and inspecting them one at a time, is to use a test light and test both sides of the fuse....if one side lights the test light up and the other side doesnt, then you know its blown......Happy Hunting....

Lets work as a TEAM and do it MY WAY!!

    Thanks for the reply.

I've checked the fuses under the steering wheel and they both seem to be fine.

So now I guess I have to pull the head unit out and hope its the fuse on the back there.
