Default Installing front splits urgent help please

    Hey guys,
I bought kevlar 6" splits today and I have to find a place for the cross over to go. The guy at jaycar told me to put it in the kick panel but I can't find any information on how to remove the kick panel in a VX.

I've got the door trim apart and have access to the speaker and tweeter but can't for the life of me figure out how to remove the kick panel, or find another place for the cross over.

Help quick please as the sun is going down and I've got limited work time left.. thanks =)

Also, the cross over diagram has the split (+) going to 3 terminals on the cross over (0db, +3db, -3db) .. Do I split the wire and have it run to all 3 or just the one?

The trim panel along the sill needs to come out as it overlaps the screw holding the kick panel in place. You need a special "bit" to undo the torx (i think) screws in the sill panel.

the +3 and stuff is for the tweeter
if you put it on +3 its louder
they do this so if you put the splits near heard you run it lower so its not so harsh on your ears and if ya put it long way away you run +3 so its louder so sound travels to ears all at the same time

I am assuming the VX is much the same as my VT. I installed the left hand crossover behind the end panel of the dashboard. Plenty of room and metal to screw it into without hitting any wiring behind it. On the right hand side I put it under the dash at the top of the fuse panel just to the right of the steering column (I am sure there must be a reason why I didn't put it in a similar spot to the left one but I can't remember). I can email photos if you want.

ECU behind the left kick, no room for xover there. Put it up behind the glove box. Right side is ok though. Double sided tape is your friend.

I put both of mine on either side behind the dash side panel where it vents into the door. They fit pretty easily and they weren't small crossovers.

With those torx screws matey, this sounds ruff, but if your careful you wont cause any undue damage. Use a flat blade screwdriver that fits nicely in 2 of the 6pointer head, get a standard socket that fits the handle of the screwdriver (screwdriver handles are commonly made standard hex) and there you have it, a make shift torx tool. The benefit is, the screws are not overly tensioned and there is no point spending money on tools you only use once every 5 years.

The problem was I couldn't see the actual screw because it was set so far in.. I was laying on the floor with a light in there which gave me a bit of room to move but not enough.. I did try that though and couldn't get enough leverage to crack it.
