hey guys...found a very nice price for a JVC KW-AVX700 on eBay, dealer seems very trustworthy with over 10,400 postive feedback items, and the purchase will be under half price if i get it from this store than if i stroll in my local JB hifi,
my only concerns are:
will anything be affected due to the fact that this is an American unit?
the FM/AM frequency range is the same etc,
just wondering if anyone had installed a head unit from America and had any problems?
p.s it's a DVD player as well so will anything be affected by that? i.e NTSC / PAL...
i know it's region free so that shouldn't be issue..thanks guys!
yup will be fine
AM radio won't work unless it has the option to change the AM frequency steps. They use 10kHz steps rather than 9kHz like us.
You'd want to hope that it can play PAL DVD's. US models are usually made only for the US so their DVD players and screens are NTSC only. You might want to find that out first.
the stats on website show its fine and everything is adjustable
Why didn't you say that in the first place?![]()
Which website? The US site only has the 706 model. The AU site doesn't seem to have any of that info. But the UK site has the same user manual for both the 700 and 706 in one, so they must be similar.
The manual says that it does PAL/NTSC and also that it does MW 522kHz-1620kHz for AM, since it has 522 you'd have to assume it can do 9kHz steps.
Just remember that you will most likely have no warranty for the unit in Australia. They seem to be cracking down on that at the moment to support the local dealers.
Quite rightly so as well....Don't want to leave StoneX without a job. He might become a post whore on here.Originally Posted by vystorm_adel
