You will need to purchase the metal grilles. You can get them from any car audio outlet or genuine ones from holden.
I am afraid you do need to cut it, however u need to cut about half an inch INSIDE the existing line in the shelf. DONT CUT ON THE LINE...else your new grille to go over the top will happily fall through.....

If you need anymore help just ask....

What happens if you have already done so ? Not only that...one of my friends who did one of the speakers is a bit unco and went outside the line....Are there any other options to covering this mess ? Like you said the standard grill won't fit because the hole is too big...any suggestions much appreciated...is there maybe like a rear panel cover or something that would work ?

go to a wreaker and buy another parcel shelf.

will cost you about $30.. dont bother trying to fix it as its going to take your a very long time and it wont look anywhere near as good.

Thanks for the tip mate will probaly end up doing that but I came across a rear speaker grill for sale that I'm thinking might do the trick...I'm guessing it's out of an older model commodore...If the mesh bit is the same as the cut out, I'm thinking that I will be able to just drill this into my existing parcel shelf ? Thoughts ?

sorry for the thread dig, but if you cut out the hole in the parcel shelf half an inch inside the line, how does the new grille stay to the shelf?

    Cheers,

The grilles have little tabs on them that you fold under that keep them in place . I think an inch is a bit much , i did mine about 10 mm from the inside of the line. I don't think it matters as long as you don't go over.

ok, does that mean you have to then cut a slot for each little tab, like, 5mm in from the edge of the hole, for them to poke through and bend back?
