    I want to replace my stock vt s1 cd player, i was wondering if this would be any better than the stock one? and is it a reasonably good head unit? i have stock speakers at the moment, but i will soon be replacing them, anyone have any ideas on what speakers would go good with this deck? for around the $200 price range, i need four 6", 2 with splits for the front, please could someone help me out i dont really know much about this...

    That HU will deffinately outdo the stock 'o' VT one. Nice choice. As for the speaker... id reccomend andthing from the kevlar range of responce gear or a mid range alpine or pioneer setup. $200 is limiting but you can get 6" splits for $130 (Kevlar Responce) and some non splits for less... cant remember the price. Should beable to do it for $200.

    I'll vouch for the precision response (jaycar) stuff. I've said it before, but hey. I couldn't be happier! One thing though, they're 6.5 inch. I made them fit in door pods though. As for sound, I'm very hapy. Also, I'd reccomend buying HU of ebay (from a trusted seller), and If you do dedice to get precision response, do a search for New Millenium Networking - they sell it cheap. By buying off ebay I paid ~ 1/4 of retail for my HU

    Ok thanks for helping me out guys.

    So if i get the following, will i be all set?

    Front Doors:
    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Precision-Res...QQcmdZViewItem

    Rear Doors:
    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NEW-Precision...QQcmdZViewItem

    Head Unit: (or something in this range)
    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

    Or this head unit instead? if rather this because its cheaper, or will i be much better off getting the pioneer above?

    @jack.mcintyre
    how did you get the 6.5's to fit in the door pods? has anyone done this in a vt? does it require much work?

    Gear looks good. Only thing with the h/u is if you are looking to run amps you should look for something with 2 pre outs.

    Yes 6.5 inch speakers will fit into a VT you just have to modifiy the plastic holders in the doors. (they go behind the grill in the origional holder, back has to be cut off holder.)

    Good luck.

    Before buying from eBay, go see if your local JB can matchthe price... They might get close and then you'll at least have a warranty.
