ok firstly im buyin this off ebay http://cgi.ebay.com.au/KENWOOD-KAC-9...QQcmdZViewItem
now would i be right to say i can only hook up 1 sub to this? call me dumb but i dont no if i dont ask rite?
You can hook up as many subs as you want, as long as the overall impedence (ohm) is equal to what the amp can power. That eBay link doesn't list "proper" power ratings, but it does say it can run a 1 ohm load. So if you have;
- Eight dual 4 ohm voice coil subs, will work
- Four 4 ohm subs wired in parallel, will work
- Two 2 ohm subs wired in parallel, will work
- Two dual 4 ohm voice coil subs, will work
- One dual 2 ohm voice coil sub, will work
There are so many combinations that will work, you just need to know how to wire them to get the right load for the amp.

Also, Indoaudio are a reliable eBay seller, but you could buy alot better amp than that. Kenwood don't make great amps. With shipping added to that price, you could probably buy a GOOD 2nd monoblock over here that will be alot better.
first of all stonex thanx, wat did u mean by?you could probably buy a GOOD 2nd monoblock over here that will be alot better
can you make a suggestion of something better then, cos i dont know anything bought these, anything better for that price? also is kenwood a no go for these or a they just not as good as others?
thanx
Sorry, that sentence didn't make much sense. I meant that you could probably find a good 2nd hand monoblock in Australia that will be alot better than Kenwood.
I can't really make a suggestion as 2nd hand gear could be anything, you'd just have to be patient.
Have you been quoted a shipping price from Indoaudio? Everything i've bought from them has been about $60-70USD shipping extra. I guess that still works out pretty cheap for 900Wrms @ 1 ohm. If it works out under $300, it's worth it.
Kenwood isn't "no go", they're probably equal to Pioneer, Clarion, and other mainstream brands.
they said under $300 all up, plus could be cheaper as my mate wants one also. thanx stonex
