has anyone wired in a ipod auc-in line to a factory stereo, i have a "au stereo" that i'd like to wire up to ipod, and have been told it can be done, but noone has told me how to do it this is the best I was told
"However it will need a switch. The ipod speaker wire can be directly wired in"
I am no good with audio, or ellectronics, anyone shead any light on it?
if you have a VT or later then PM phreddy and he will sort it all out for you, bu otherwise a VS/VR stereo has an aux input. i am noty sure if the vc-vp radios have an aux input bad i think that it would be easier to just get a new h/u.
Yeah this is a ford AU stereo, I was going to put into my old 50's style stand up am radio (its a monster...) good sound too... but thinking I want to be able to jack the ipod into it...
I have ask ford people, and electronic people but so far noone has told me how to do it!!
I may just buy a new unit, but shame to not be able to use the AU one for free. Hoped I could just somehow wire in a 3.5 socket to the ??????? whatever and away she'd go....
does not look llike thats the case..
got it working, was a simple pull it apart, solder some wires on, and go... YAY!!!
just another quick question for the electronic inclinded... how do you trick the cd player to think there is a cd player in it, whilst there is not...
thats my next hurdle, as when the audio cd finishes, and starts again, there is a 2-3 second drop out of the ipod... its no big deal just could be better
u wont the easiest way? get an fm tuner that plugs straight into the headphone jack of anything(in this case ur ipod) then tune ur car radio into the channel that the fm tuner is putting out and thats it.
fm tuner= $20 to $20 from target

hehehe
exactly what i was thinkin... or just get an iTrip to plug into ur iPod, and then it doesnt even have to plug into ur car!, just tunes in... its all im doin =P
