    Default VR Radio AM Interferance

My car radio on weak AM signals has interferance that sounds like the computer, I have checked out the earthing of the antenna etc, but no luck. No problem with FM.

Unfortunately it will be a process of elimination....

    1. Try running an earth wire from the guard to the bonnet, this sometimes helps....AM is one of the hardest of all the radio bands to get right.....FM is much easier...

How did you check the earth on the antenna?

    2. You could try another 'fly' lead from the radio to the antenna. The 'Fly' Lead is the lead that comes from the radio to the plug on the antenna, the plug is just above the passenger side kick panel sometimes tucked in behind the computer, you may have to remove the computer to get to it just takes a few plastic clips to remove....

Where I use to work one of the common problems was that fly lead, we replaced it and it solved most problems....

See how you go and let us know....cheers

Thanks VQXTC for the reply. the only check I made on the antenna earthing was that the earth wire was attached to the guard. I will try your suggestions in the coming weeks. Many thanks for the help. Bob H
