just installed a jvc dvd player and the wires behind it are all squashed and cramped up like a bitch will this hurt it ?
In a VT there's plenty of room to pull the wires down below the head unit. If you can do that, it would be better.
any pressure on electrical conductors will cause a hot spot.make all connections tight and not under stress.

thanks i'll try and loosen them up a bit cause the old head unit wasn't so bad this one cause it's got the dvd cables to has no room but i'll have a better look. I put all the cables together with electrical tape maybe if i was to undo those it might help and i can slip it down the back of the compartment bit below the head unit. Another problem i have that i just realised is the joiners i've used to connect the wires there like little white block things with 2 little screws and they take up alot of room to.
i should just go and get a soldering iron and do it that way cause that's the best way isn't it?
thanks
oh and also i've used a wiring harness to make it easier so that's something else that takes up room
