    Default 12v power for testing

Is it possible to use one of those transformers that you plug into a standard wall socket to test things such as head unit's and lights on cluster/controls etc?
I'm going to change the lights in my headunit and aircon / cluster etc to led's and would like to be able to test them outside of the car.
If this is possible what specifications would I be looking for. eg 12V and 1amp.
    Thanks.

And as long as it outputs enough current... Most of them will turn a head unit on but might not supply enough power to run motorised face or accept CD, etc. An old PC power supply works better

ah, nothing like the old pc power supply for running car audio gear on the bench.
specs: 12V and as much current as you can find. high current bench power supplies can be pricey tho. you can usually find a 12V 5A output on pc power supplies if i remember right. that should get you started.

most definetly use an old PC PSU...MY last one I had was good for 9amps.
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!
