hey guys about 2 days ago i bought the new sony 15 ich sub and i got a pioneer mono bloc amp the gm-7100m i use to run a 15ich jbl sub of this with out a problem but it sound like my doesnt amp doesnt wanna give any power to sub.I got told by the guy sold me the sub said that people use this sub for comps and that but at the moment my sub sounding like a 10 ich i tryed to fixing the gain and all that shit but still got of it nut ill give u the pic of the sub and amp and the specs on it and tell me if need a new amp or sumthing thanks for your help.
p.s tell me wat i should do pls cheers
That amp has should have enough power for the sub. Check that u have 12volt to it wen car is off, if u have n know how to use a multimeter check that and also go over your connection to tha sub are goin to the right terminals and are nice n secure....
Xplode gear aint that great but hey it will do tha job
thats my 2 cents
is the sub in a box? cause when there not they do bugger all
the sub is the boxs can sum suggest a better sub for $200 dollars
what size is your box?
my box size is 15"
i think it could the sub is too big for the amp like power wise

To make the most out of that amp you need to wire the coils on the sub in parallel...
Meaning on one side of the sub you have one positive and one negative terminal, and the same on the other side..
You need to wire both positives together on the sub and both negatives together on the sub.
Next you run one wire from either positive terminal on the sub to your amp, and the same for the negative terminal.
Let me know if this helps....cheers
Lets work as a TEAM and do it MY WAY!!![]()
check the ground and your speaker wires.
also check the fuses and make sure all your wires are positive to positive and negative to negative. (like what VQXTC said but check the aux cables running for ur H/U as well)
hope one of us has helped you. but even if we haven't 12voltking will fix it

all im saying is every body keeps on say the sony sub goes off it nut but with me it sound weak as piss and it only got a pos and neg and the back of the sub to
ill rephrase my question
what is the volume of the box? not the size of the hole rofl
i recon either on of your rcas are disconnected or your wiring is dodgey as shit or your tuning is really bad. Im going to say its something to do with the wiring. And im sorta leaning towards the rcas. Check the back of your head unit to make sure they are connected up. Ide also check on your head unit to make sure you havent faded the sub out. Ie if it has sub controll or if your fading all the music to the front or soething. Whre you at buddy if your in qld i might be able to help
just realised the amp itself has its own remote bass control. Make sure this isnt wond out to nothing. I recon it will be something very simple.
To everyone who is saying make sure the wires from amp to subs are connected in the correct polarity. It will still make bass if reversed in polarity. just sound weird. If you invert your sub then you HAVE to reverse the polarity
Better not tell that to my 4x10sOriginally Posted by commy92

bandpass maybe??
inverting a sub is o face it INTO the box and have the magnets hanging out of the box

oh i thought he ment something far more complicated than a push-pull box.Originally Posted by 12Voltking
is that what bandpass is or have i got myself all confused?
Your both confused.
A bandpass is an eclosure with the speaker(s) generally mounted INSIDE the box with a vent to release the air and soundwaves. These generally provide a muddy sound and don't have a great frequency range. They have a narrow band...hence the bandpass term..like this one...
A push pull setup is not used often because to be honest..I don't know...but I don't see any advantages of it.
It's essentialy one speaker mounted correctly and the other speaker mounted inversly....
I don't see a great deal of point to this setup...but people like it.
The bottom speaker there is inverted. My 4x10s are all mounted like that. Not for sound purposes.....they just look COOL. Nothing more, nothing less. They just look cool and require a pearl necklace.
