kicker subs

i was looking in jb hifi today for some subs i want 2 12" subs and they recomended the kicker comp subs. they where $449 or something like that for 2 in a ported box. Are these subs any good? what would you recomend for a price range of around $500 including box.

i think you should get youself a 15" kicker comp in box mine was only $300 and it goes hard as

stuff all that, how about one 12inch sub?
2 subs are only just a tiny bit louder than one sub. so how come 2?
personally i would go for one, much better quality sub than 2.
