Wiring colours for hu install in VH.

Hey fellas,

Got a new pioneer hu today and need the wiring colours from the stock hu.

I found this but it only goes back to VK, would that be the same?
VK-VZ Stereo wiring colours.

The colour wires I have are:

Red, Black, Orange, Green, Brown, White..... for one clip and...
Blue, Yellow, Brown, and Grey... for the second clip.

I need acc, +12V constant and Earth. Which speakers the others go to would also be helpfull.

what i usaually do if using stock speakers i pull em out and check the speaker wire colors and if some look the same and you want to make sure theyre the right ones get a AA or AAA battery and put the speaker wires on it till you heard a crackle. for power wires get yourself a test light (or glove box light.etc ) or multimeter and as for earth you need to wire it directly to chassis (make sure its clean metal with no paint.etc). btw most speakers have a + and - on them.

..or if anyone has wiring colors use them instead.

Thanx. I got the test light and all the power and earths are done. The speaker wires I'm having trouble identifying, it looks like both rear speakers were hooked up to eachother, like 1 speaker. I'm just gnna run my own speaker wires and fix it all up.

if its what im thinking of i had the same problem with an old toyota. i just ran new speaker wires.

Thats actually what you have to do since the VHs had a common earth thing with there speakers and newer head units get quite upset when you start joining their negative wires together.

Does that mean I should find a new earth, or is it ok the way it is (using the test light I put the earth to this wire and the other end to power and the light lit up) it's working, so I think it's right.

All speakers are wired up, the joy of having a system with at least 'some' oomph!

No, the main earth will be sufficient. Although, if you wanted to ensure the best performance out of the unit then yes I would earth the unit to the nearest metal point on the car.
