iv never had a play with alpine gear but its prob sumthing like pioneers easy equiliser (EEQ) eg. the number on left will be low frequencies, number in the middle will be mid range frequencies and the number on the right will be high frequencies.Originally Posted by kinkbike_rider
well to run a sub you will have an ampo which should have a low pass filter. set this to around 100hz, then move it up and down to get the sound you like.
maybe the three are sub, front rear??
could be.. have a look in the instruction manual maybe?
semi:
That is proberly it, i should have thought of that, if so should i set sub/low frquencey to 100h?

i did look in the instruction manual i did'nt understand it.

alll the settings are is at what frequency the bass is boosted, so there will probably be 60/80/100/120 hz. the number that says 1/2/3 is effectively how much around the selected frequency is boosted. and finally the numbers 1-9/high are just how much the frequency is to be boosted.
these will have no effect on if the sub is playing bass or higher frequencies.
make sence now?
yeh alpine can be confusing, especially the higher models (i havent played with much), are u in just the normal bass adjustment, if so mine has the level on the left (-7 - +7), the width in the middle (1 - 4) and the frequency on the right (60hz, 80hz, 100hz, 200hz), but thats on mine which is a cheaper model i think
the width means how close the enhanced bass is around the frequency that u set, 1 being very close and 4 being very wide spread
level adjustment is the volume knob, the width is adjusted using the band button and the frequency is adjusted using the skip bacward/forward buttons
hope this helps, would also help to know what menu u r in, coz it might not be the same 1
also cross over is normally set on the amplifier
didn't i just say that?Originally Posted by VKStevo

well it wasnt there wen i started writing it
and just for interest u might like 2 read my post and pick it 2 bits like the rest of my posts seem 2 b, but oh well thats life i guess
maybe i should just go 2 bed, might think better in the morning
mate no offence ment, it happens to every one all the time.
on the headunit i hold down the menu button then select X-OVER.Originally Posted by VKStevo

huh? How much the bass is boosted? i thought this was a crossover setting?Originally Posted by garfa
ok mine doesnt have that setting, probably coz its a cheaper system, does yours have bass engine plus or pro? if so that would be y u have different settings, mines just the plain old bass engine, if it says crossover i guess that would be it, unless its for the speakers not the subOriginally Posted by kinkbike_rider
i am confused aswell. maybe if i can be bothered i will download a manual for the h/u and have a look.Originally Posted by semi

sorry man i dont no much about the pro versions
a friend had the old plus version and i got confused watching him using the menu's
I've just been trying to get a manual up of that HU, but the site im using doesnt seem to be working. If anyone manages to find a PDF of the manual, post it up and ill see if i can make sense of it
strange, the owners manuals are normally on the alpine site
theyre actually on another site linked to from alpine. The site isnt working for me for some reason
for me it says "There is currently no manual available for this product"
You have to go through the alpine US site, then their support section.
