hi i have a us audio sub it is a 10"
i am stuck on what kind of amp to use?
a mono one is the right one but wat size? the sub
is no more then 400w
then if i was to buy a amp for it would i be able to run 3 subs off the mono channel amp?
you have got to love it when people look but dont reply..![]()
you would be better off buying a 2 channel amp to start with if your planning on running two other subs later on, then al you need to do is buy the same 2 channel amp and run the other 2 subs off that and have a spare channel cos running 3 subs off a monoblock amp wont be as affective
JBL 600.1, value for money unbeatable (around $400)....same product from alpine around $1100, just my 2 cents![]()

thx guys...
ill look in to it..
thx for ur help. any other suggestions would me greatly appreciated
yeah i looked i just couldn't be bothered explaining about impedances and all that then.
why do you want 3 subs?
do a search for impedance on the net and then you will understand how different subs can be wired to maximise an amp's potentional power.
but its still comes down to WHY 3 subs?
save yourself a couple of bucks on subs and go for just 2 and put what you've saved towards getting a better amplifier.
Also, in no way will a mono be more efficient than 2 2 channel amps. The only time it might be is if you want to run one 4ohm sub
can you please explain?Originally Posted by semi
ummm. class d amps are more efficient than class A/B. Am i missing something?
you said that 2 2 channel (A/B) will be more efficent than a class D.
oh. I meant that if you're running a 4ohm sub, you can get more power to it sometimes by running a 2ch bridged at 4ohm than you'll get from a cheap mono that makes best power at 2. Not technically more efficient, but you get what i mean
ah yes with you now, sorry i take everything as its written!Originally Posted by semi
