Eclipse Audio systems

I searched and found some older threads with info on the Eclipse audio gear.
Nothing recent though.

I can get an Eclipse MP3 H/U for $100. It is only six months old and is coming from a rearended wreck, not stolen.

In the old threads they only have good reviews. Does anyone have any new experiences with Eclipse gear?

I know that Eclipse is a Fujitsu Ten brand name but Fujitsu Ten does not have a good name itself. Are the Eclipse branded items made to a higher standard?

Any info would be greatly appreciated and one day I will have a system that will stay in the car longer than a week.

they have a lot of gimicky features. eg 8 volt preouts when almost all amps will only take around 5V.
i have heard some talk of bad quality but i have not experienced it.
whats the model?

I thought they were a cheap brand until I read the other threads, appears they are not.

Eclipse on the whole have a good name in the car audio market. Some of their high end equipment is quite nice.

Told a mate what I was looking at and he said his Sister won a stereo she didn't need.
So I paid $20.00, she wanted to give it to me, for a Pioneer DEH 3850 MP H/U

MP3, WMA, 50watts x 4, changer controls, BMX, remote. Unused in it's box.

I think I've done well.
