Fitting 6.25' speakers into door pod in vs?

I just bought a set of MTX txc6.1 speakers to go in my ute and came to the gripping realisation today that they do not fit in the standard holes! have tried "slightly" modifying all the standard plastic mounting brackets but still no good. Anyone got any usefull suggestions?? dont tell me to put em in the back......its a ute

I went haywire modifying the stock spacer. I got jaycar 6.5s in there

Yeah thanks guys i stuffed up too they are actually 6.5's. I think ill have a bitmore of a play around but all else fails ill just make some pods (or buy them)

Thanks for the advice, i mutilated my standard pods and made new mounts with bog.....worked a treat

I bought a set of 6.5'' splits originally but just swapped them for 6'' when i realized the pods fit 6''. Im too lazy to make up custom pods to fit the 6.5'' LOL.
