Sup dudes just wondering if any of you people with subs in vt's/vx's have made any attempt to tie/screw their boxes in place so that it doesnt get kained inside ur boot.
I dunno about you guys but my driving is pretty erratic and my box always slams into my amps and stuff and was wondering if i screw into the metal in the base of the boot will i hit anythin like fuel tank etc...
Any help would be muchly appreciated!![]()
peace out
ur best bet would be to look under the car and see where ur fuel tank is and mount the sub where u wanna screw it in and see if its on top of the fuel tank apart from that i dont see any reason y u wouldnt be able to bolt ur sub down especially coz its a defect if ur subs not secured properly
Two other handy tricks - velcro - don't laugh, some decent velcro can hold a carpeted sub box down very well.
Another good idea i've heard for amps/sub boxes. Chuck another sheet of MDF under the boot carpet, secure your box/amp to that piece of MDF through the carpet. It should stop it moving around.
^^^I'll second the velcro idea...a mate of mine has his sub box held in with it and it takes two of us to get the sucker out. A large sheet of velcro hooks covers the bottom of the box and a large sheet of velcro 'fluff' is over the diff-hump in the boot. Once it's in place it's never moving.
Gravity is proof that nature keeps getting us down.
cheers heaps for the help fellas but yeh tried the valcrow b4 n it ends up sliding the whole boot carpet around with it so i like the sound of that sheet of mdf under the carpet might give that ago. cheers again
