my amp protection light flickers on and off and the rear speakers that are connected to the amp cut in and out every 3 seconds or so. if anybody knows wat the problem is information will be very helpful.
thanks
I would say a loose connection. Check your power cable, fuse and remote cable connections and what not.
your speaker or amp connections may also be grounding out somewhere i had this problem with my sub if this is the case a simple fix is to put electricial tape round the connection or on the surface its grounding out on or both
i just checked the remote wire frome the deck with a test light and there was no power. could that b the problem and if so do i need a new deck?
you mean theres no voltage from the remote wire when its switched on? I would hazard a guess and say that it amy still be working, but with not enough power/current to run a light, thoug im not sure. Try and get your hands on a multimeter and meassure with that.
If it is broken, then you will either need a new deck, or to get that one fixed or possibly hook your remote wire from an accessories wire to the amp
For the amp to work it would need a power source from the h/u. So tere should be power from there. Check again, even stupid shit, was the deck turned on when you tested it? did you check the test light on the battery first? stuff like that. Read lieos post though, that could provide some answers.
amps power source doesnt come from the HU. I agree though that the problem sounds more like a loose ocnnection than anything else
Well I've tested another amp, and that worked fine so it's definately an amp issue. I'm not sure if it was something I did wrong while installing it, I've checked everything that I've been recommended to on here, or whether it's because it's a Boss amp (I've read the posts about the problems with them). It may still be covered under warranty if it's a faulty amp (2 weeks use) if not I'm going to cut my losses and buy a better brand.
Thanks for your help.
your triger wire can come from any thing as long as its not connected directly to the batery. but its prob a lose conection

We will miss you Brockie
jsut to clarify the above post, it can come from any accessories wire, but its still better to have it come from the HU
