nevewr heard em, but apparently the splits are pretty damn good for the $$
The splits are the best value for money. They destroy low and mid-range speakers from your usual Autobarn brands (eg: Pioneer, Clarion, Kenwood etc etc) and only get challenged by speakers the are +$300. Make sure you get the splits though, not the coaxials.
I know its not splits but I bought a 12" sub from jaycar (dual 4 ohm voice coil 300 watt carbon fibre cone etc etc) with the intention of using it in my jukebox project. I ended up using it in my car instead because it sounds better than my JL Audio sub I paid the same price for!
Two big thumbs up for Jaycar speakers.![]()

Its in a relatively small sealed box... less than 2 cubic feet I think.. not sure exactly cause I didnt build it. Sound is fantastic anyway, not in the least bit boomy and has an excellent solid punch to it. Doesnt sound like it using something as flimsy as a cone to produce the note if you follow. Its more like being hit in the chest with a phone book. Stands up extremely well to frequencies a lot of subs struggle to produce as well.. the sort of thing that you often can't hear with lower quality systems. I reccomend it wholeheartedly in any case![]()

Response is the shit. For my next sterio I am going all 100% response, Ive never heard clarity like that for the price of them, and those 300WRMS DVC subs..... OMG, mate had 2 of em in his corona, trust me you dont wanna sit in that car after u just ate, they hit that hard and clear. Awesome stuff response
really, i dont find mine HARD hitting, just a little punch.
maybe i am used to them.
The response stuff is definately the best bang for buck around. I got a 12' DVC carbon fiber sub and it kicks bloody good. Its in a 28 Litre unported box. Gets a lot more punch in the unported box rather than ported. a mate put 2 10' carbon fiber subs in his ute and they shake it to pieces. splits produce great sound quality for their price too. Im running my sub off a 2x150WRMS Response amp and i cant complain about it! The amp won product of the year last year at the Car Stereo Australia awards, and i can see why!![]()
So if i was to chose between some Response splits and some fusion splits in the same price bracket i should go for the response??

I would select Response over any 6" component split in the same bracket. Yes.
i have heard only good things about these speakers, i think im going to purchase some 6.5" Jaycar response speakers for my doors.
i ended up getting 6" jaycar splits and 6" jaycar coaxials, and these things are bloody unreal for what i paid!! they r crystal clear and have a really good sound to them! i recommend them to everyone, and with their prices u always walk out impressed and with some extra dough in your wallet!

i think for only a little more you can get dd6.5's, which are apparently pretty damn good. If you can get to a store that stocks DD, you might want to check them out too, i think theyre a little over $200 if i remember correctly
I have the jaycar 6.5" splits in my car connected to an infinity amp putting plenty enough power, and to be honest they dont really sound that great. Even hearing them in the shops I didnt think they sounded good, but I assumed they'd sound better when installed properly, but nope. Heard some alpine splits in a shop and they sounded very clear! If I had the choice again I'd spend that little bit extra (well, ok maybe a fair bit extra) and get some better ones.
Thats just my opinion of course, others have heard my stereo and think it sounds good, I guess I just have pretty high standards lol.
Loud N' Low
I think the thing is that they arent awesome, but theyre really good for the price
Hmmm after hearing that im unsure now, because i have a very tight budget and i thought i could get away with some goods splits at a good price.
they are good splits, and id eccomend getting them on a budget. I dont think you'll be dissapointed
I've got the 6" split in the front door pot and they sounded really good for a 149 bucks. 6.5" doesn't fit, too big !!!! With the 6" all you have to do is to cut the plastic cone inside which hold the speakers. To cut the cone, I used a thin blade with a pair of pliers, heated it up on the stove and apply. You don't even need to drill any holes all the screws are lined up.
All the other splits I saw was 200 + plus
response = reasonable price + fair quality
