Hey everyone,
At the end of this year im plannin on doing a fair bit of work to the interior of my car....
this is gonna include a stereo:
At the moment i know that i want:
Pioneer DEH-P4850MP Headunit: 300 bux
Jaycar Component Response speakers : 260 for 2 pairs
I want to spend about 800 on the amp, enclosure and 2 sub's
Whats the best bang for buck??
That headunit is decent, but by the end of the year there will probably be something better out.
Good luck bro.

$800 for an amp, two subs and an enclosure wont get ya much man. Nothing great anyway.
yeah i gathered....
im still not sure about what im gonna do exactly...
IM doin alot of interior work so whatever is left over cash wise will go into the stereo
I think i just night run the RCA leads and power cable to the boot and leave them till i save up for a decent bass pumping setup
clarion has a pre loaded ported dual 12" enclosure retailing for $359 so u can get it less then that and go for a pioneer gm7200m mono bloc to power it for bout $300 should sound good and is what i will soon be running in my car when i sell my 15"
why do you want 2 subs? for bass or looks?
I bought 2 JL 12WO (12") subs, cost me $340 for the pair, and a JL e2150 amp for $350. The subs are rated low (125wrms each), and so is the amp (40x2 wrms), but overall it cranks hard as f**k!!
JL Audio are bloody fantastic, I would definetely recommend them to anyone!!
I haven't had my stezza tested or anythin, but it's set of car alarms b4, and when I go passed Repco my bro (he works there) rekons it shakes the wall so much that everything on it is vibrating HAHA!!
And the best bit of all.....it shits all over a lot of stereo's which costed a lot more then mine :P
About the box, well I paid about $30 for some MDF, about another $15-$20 to get it all precut, then I chucked it 2gether myself. I made it to the subs specs to, which is a downside when u buy boxes already made.
The gear I bought was bottom of the range stuff, but it cranks hard. JL don't make the 12WO's anymore, they have replaced it with another model...they're now white....but I doubt the price would be much more then the 12WO's.

Just did some research...
Place in syndey makes wicked fibreglass boxes to fit 2x 12" subs..
N they ship down here...
Im looking at the Response Pro D-Class amp... 1500W... that should do..
Also looking at the 750w rating response pro subs...
That should give a fair kick...
I want two subs for bass n looks...
Having 2 subs only adds an extra 3db to the sound u get... But looks tough..![]()
hey i did a full audio set up earlier this year i have pioneer head unit, splits, 6x9s, amp and 2 subs i went kenwood 1000watters great bang for buck all up the enclosure i built myself including amp rack 60 for material 100 a sub on special and i got the amp fo 200 good 4 chanel amp that powers both subs nicely. just do some resarch. and if your handy you can build a custom enclosure to ur specs and the subs to get it a bit cheaper and have it look a lil better. pics of my set up are on my page if u wana check it out.
vh hybrid
hang on you aare wanting spend close to 600 on the 1500w jaycar amp on a budget of 800!?
400W wired down to 2 or 1 ohm would be a better choice.
Nah, if i get the resoponse 1500W amp its safe to say im gonna be spending alot more than 800 bux...lol
I was also looking at fiberglass enclosures...
there is a place in sydney that do a really nice one for twin 12" subs for 170 bux plus postage...
Early days atm though still...
Laters
hmm, that sounds like a pretty decent price, as long as the quality is good. Do they make them up to suit your needs or do you just get one size?
Just the one size but i think you can contact them and get one made up to suit a custom install...
Here's the ebay link anyway
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/12-Twin-Subwo...QQcmdZViewItem
hehe lovingly handcrafted in Australia....
Looks decent though. Extra $120 for paint...pffffft
Get it made up to the correct specifications, its worth the extra money and it will make a massive difference to the quality of the bass and the sound of your subs.
definately make the enclosure yourself, mdf and carpeted or even fibreglassing.
Fibreglassing can take a lil longer, but its a pretty simple process really. The cost of materials for that custom enclosure would be around $60-70, and there are plenty of tutorials around to show you how to do it..
how bout the one im selling? link is in my sig
im in the process of discussing my brothers rockford fosgate 2 12" subs at 400rms each in box (1300 retail) and his RF mono 600 retail and his fusion 4 channel, 500 retail, i want his stuff as he isnt using it atm, and he said to me, if youre going to do it, u might aswell pay for the best, you dont wannna be coming back over it in 4 months
