Hey, got some specials at strathfields this week, so i figure its a good time to go buy some shit..
What sounds louder n crisper, or generally what would you rather out of:
6" 4 way 200 Watt BOSS speakers --$34 Brand new
OR
6" 150W Splits Pioneer - $98 Brand new.
Also, what would it be like if i go the splits for the back, and the boss ones for the front pods -- I have a Holden VS Commodore.
Thanx guys uz r the best!!
Splits are always going to out-perform coax's, hence why they're more expensive. Boss are not the best brand but they will do if they are going to be in the back, Why would you want them to be in the front?? Splits go up front where the driver is for your listening pleasure![]()
Obviously the pioneers... BOSS does not have sound, quality or crisp in their vocabulary.

Boss arent that bad, One of the better cheap brands. The new VE premium stereo package is Boss from what i heard, will be interesting to see what peoples opinions are
so should i get 4 of the splits? is 150 watts enuf?
You are quoting max power anyway mate, so it does not tell you anything to be honest.
What are the RMS ratings of these speakers?
Also remember an aftermarket headunit will only pump 22-23 watts rms into each speaker so unless you have them hooked up to an amp, they will only use 23 watts rms or so.
Hmmm im interested about these 6" Pioneer splits, Would these be better than the Jaycar 6.5" splits ????
id doubt it

9 PSI SC14 Intercooled :: Genie headers :: Twin cats :: HM Twin 2.25 exhaust :: 3.45:1 LSD
yeh well jaycar arnt exactly that expensive, so i was just wondering because the 6" pioneer's would fit in a lot easier to the doors than the 6.5" jaycar splits.
Oh ok thanks ur a champ i have been wondering that for ages. Sweet that means i can buy the Jaycar ones, i thought i would have to do alot more modification to fit the jaycars.

yep, you will have to make a few changes to get some 6.5" splits into your doors, including the jaycars. For the trouble its worth to fit though, id get teh jaycars, cheaper too
i think he is talking about magnet depth.
yes, im sure. My pioneers had a noticalbe difference in cone size to the stocky 6", although i didnt really ahve any real issues with magnet dpeth
