hey all,
i have 2 12" MTX 5500 (T5512-44) (300RMS/600MAX).
i am just wondering what amp/amps it should use.
thanks alot everyone
well what ever amp thats around 300Wrms and is around your budget.
jaycar make very good amps for the low price they are.
garfa,
what jaycar amp would you recommend for these two subs
one of the 4x100WRMS would do the job. Bridge it to two 380WRMS channels and run one channel to each sub. Or you could use one of the 2x150WRMS amps, which cost less but obviously less power. (Im referring to jaycar amps by the way)
not a jaycar but my m8 runs the exact subs through a 900wrms kenwood mono and hasnt blown his subs and it sounds good so that could be an option
Maybe the jaycar mono, 800wrms @ 1 ohm, what resistance are the coils and how many voice coils?
because the mtx T5500 12 inch comes in 1 and 2 VCs i need to know what it is.
....like garfa stated - budget will determine this plus whether they are SVC or DVC.
The are a range of options across the board from every Manufacturer
To give you a general idea....
...take the Rockoford T3002 ($450 odd) rated 300 RMS ..actual.... 838 RMS
....or you could go a Pro Series HD5001 mono black 500 RMS for about $350
again the choose is limitless, but really depends on budget and if you wish to upgrade later.
Just make sure if you are wiring down to 1 ohm that they Amp is stable with the 1 ohm load.
