rohan
have you checked the fuss in the back of the head unit???
fuse in the back of the head unit is fine. ran it without the fuse and it still did not power up
must be a dodgy plug then hope you work it out mate
thanks for ur help anyway
na that cool bro wish i could have help more
ok, pull the plug out the back of the H/U. check that theres power. ie constant and acc on the pins, if theres power on those then its probably the earth and you will need to make your own somewhere.
ill be back goin to check. the constant and acc are what colours?
you can also test to see if the unit works at all by twisting the constant and acc wire together and go around to your battery and touch the wires on your battery. ie, constant+acc wires to (+), earth to (-) on the battery. it should power up.
wiring diagram found here:
VK-VZ Stereo wiring colours.
there wires should be:
Accesories - Yellow
Constant - Orange/White
but you should always check them with a test light/multimeter
i have power from the battery line and the power line but when i put the test light on the negative pin nothing happened. does this mean i need to run a new earth?
did you test you have power on the acc wire when you put the key to acc? The earth wont have power because it is only used to complete the circuit. you should be able to use the one there if the previous unit was working else run your own but test that the new earth works.
yea did that. ill go run a new earth and see what happens.
well ran the new earth and all works fine thanks for the help vn6pwr. rep points are on there way.
no problems, glad i could help![]()
