    Default Strange rear speaker issue.

I put some 6x9s in the back of my VN sedan on saturday, and I have a strange issue...
If you balance all to one side, the speaker is very very bassy and deep... same to the other side, but when the balance is even between 2 speakers, I lose all that bass.
I have made sure the speakers are in phase, and triple checked the wiring... what could be the problem here? or is it just a weird thing i need to deal with.
Could it be an issue with the head unit?

maybe deliberately reverse one speaker and see what happens? the polarity might be right at the speakers but what about at the stereo end?

Yeah, well when we put the new headunit in, we just piggy backed off the original harness so that if i had to revert to stock it would be a cinch, so hopefully the wiring is all right there... Ill test it out soon.

yup..you may have checked the wiring...but I betcha you missed something. Your out of phase like denim jackets
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!

What exactly is out of phase? im guessing its when speakers are not on the correct chanel or the pos & neg are the wrong way around from what i have picked up. cheers.

    Well...
We wired both up... tested... as described above.
    Reversed 1.
    Same.
    Reversed both.
    Same.
    Reversed other.
    Same.
    No idea there.

I find this with a lot of installs and just reverse one speaker wire.If the speakers vent into a common inclosure i.e the boot they seem to cancal each other out some time cos they both make the same pitch at the same time.Years ago they made a device to make the inside of any car quite by inputing the same sound that was in the car into the car via speakers and made silence go figure.
