    Default VH stereo cutting out

    G'day JC,

My brother's cadence amp had some massive problem's sparking and making wierd noises but we re-installed it today and it ran fine when the motor was turned on.

I was there for the whole time telling him what to do (feel's good telling an older brother what to do) making sure connection's where correct.

Every thing sounds fine when the motor is running but the stereo won't work when the key is set to accessories. The head unit and amp turn on for about 3 seconds then turn off for about 3 seconds and repeat's over and over.

There aren't any wierd noises but as the system turns on, the power light on the amp turn's on but gradually fades out.

The volt-meter in the dash reads as per usual.

This stereo has been a pain for him, i'm just hoping we can get over this last hurdle.

    Any help appriciated

Try to tighten the connection of the remote and the power source. be sure you used the high capacity wire for that to have adequate supply. hope it will solve the problem

when the key is at acc. the volts are at 12V not 14V correct? have you run a new ie separate power wire for the head unit? if not and you are using the original power wire for the old radio that circuit may not be able to handle the extra device that is your head unit. i had this setup and after a while (not straight away for some reason) when i used my windscreen wipers (of all things) my head unit turned off for a few seconds. I own a VH also so it may be the problem. I ran a new power wire straight from the battery and all was good. if you are using a new power wire then thats a toughy.
