hey guys i ust got a new dvd player and on the loom that came with it it has a handbreak wire wich means the dvd video wont show unless the handbreak is on . is there A] a way around it or B] what wire do i connect to it
thanks if anyone can help
What is the Make and Model??
Alpine you will need a trigger, same with some Pioneer
Though JVC etc ground the handbrake wire/ cable... ONLY if you are USING IT FOR A MARINE APPLICATION or SHOW and SHINE.
As viewing the DVD while the Handbrake or Foot brake is not engaged is ILLEGAL.

its a vx series 2 berlina and the dvd player is LM [a mate got it in hong kong dirt cheap] it works a treat but the handbrake switch is the only thing thats killing me....yup i know it is illegal thats why im asking what color the wire is that i need to connect the handbrake cable that is comeing from my stereo ..... so your saying i should just ground/earth it?
The Handbrake trigger cable can vary in colour, most are Blue or Green.
Have no IDEA with a LM though it should be labled handbrake or similar.
Yes 99% of HU with DVD and Screen you can earth the handbrake cable wire from the HU... just make sure you are running a fuse on the + side, just in case.
