Default Vt Wagon Audio Set-up Help?!

    Hello everyone,

I have just brought a MTX Thunder 3401 - amplifier
    (http://shopping.msn.com/specs/shp/?itemId=297210540)
and a MTX Sledgehammer 12 inch Subwoofer for my VT wagon.

So here is where i need the help as i have little knowledge in the area of car audio. Im currently looking at purchasing a jvc headunit KD-G725
    (http://www.jvc-australia.com/JVC/cli...=27&prodID=164)
Aswell as JL splits for the front, and JL 6inch speakers for the back total cost $650

Question 1: Can i run the spilts off amp, or should i just run them off the headunit?

Question 2: Is the set-up decent? (headunit + speaker choice) budget being 650 mark.

Question 3: What is the best spot to mount by amp? keeping in mind sometimes the backseats do have to come down for matress (camping)

That is all any help or advice will be greatly appreciated! Thanks

for the amo man, is the passenger seat height adjustable? i've got a kenwood 4 channel sitting under my passenger seat, after bolting it it squashed down a bit and fits ok, as for the splits i'd get jvc fs6's, which are apparently really good and if your lucky can get them for 250...i'm getting some soon.
feel free to chuck crappy speakers up the back cos u dont really have to listen to them...u'll need the amp for the sub, otherwise powerclipping can happen. hope that gives an idea.
Need some parts for my VH 253:
Green standard steering wheel...Green lower B-pillar covers.
Green sunglasses holder/lower dash bits...Air-con and assorted engine bay parts.
    PM with any info.

    Thanks for ur input stretch.
The passenger seat height im pretty sure is not adjustable.
And ill look into the jvc fs6's although the sound quality from the JL's were very impressive matched up with others on the market.

I've got my amp mounted on the left hand side wheel well, which doesn't get in the way when i have my seats folded down. But i haven't tried sleeping next to it though.

Depending on the height of the amp it might not get in the way.

I'm not to sure about how much airflow the amp will get under front seat, i looked there but wasn't a fan of it.

Question 1: Can i run the spilts off amp, or should i just run them off the headunit? So what are you going to run the SUB of if you use your amp for the splits... plus it is only a mono amp not a two channel fo r your splits

Question 2: Is the set-up decent? (headunit + speaker choice) budget being 650 mark. You will be happy with the JVC ... though you could go a Pioneer DEH-P5850MP ($299.00) or Pioneer DEH-P6850MP ($379.00) plus a set of RF T162s ($329.00)... though the JL are a good speaker will depend on what model though for pure power.

Question 3: What is the best spot to mount by amp? keeping in mind sometimes the backseats do have to come down for matress (camping) under the passanger seat, though you may need to take the seat out... you should also check clearance before doing so... at least it can breathe a bit better there.

I've had my amp mounted on the jack cover - back left in the cargo space. Can't go on the backs of the seats as the cage and kids car seat attachments don't allow it. Under the passengers seat is OK but watch out for peoples feet - esp if there are going to be kids in the car and the amp has connections at both ends....

We also mounted the stacker on top of the back left wheel arch - fits perfectly and the cargo blind keeps everything hidden....
