G'day guys,
Well, given two of my speakers have died, none of the lights on my HU work, and I haven't owned a tape in 10 years, I've decided to upgrade my sound system, somewhat.
At this stage, I'm looking at installing a Base model Sony Headunit, and a set of Jaycar splits. And of course, I have a few questions.
Firstly, there's no problem in installing the headunit. With the guide here, I should have no trouble installing that and wiring it up. What I am iffy about, is the splits. I have a VR Acclaim, so the 6.5" speakers will fit into the door pods with abit of work, obviously. I was looking at mounting the tweeter where the closed off vent at the front of the dash is, but this would be tricky as hell. To run all the wires, find somewhere to mount the crossovers, I'd basically have to pull off the entire dash, correct?
Any ideas or thoughts. I can install a HU no problems, but pulling apart the entire dash may be going just alittle bit too far for my ability. And finding somewhere to mount the crossovers, and wiring, is going to be a bitch.
There is another option that some of our clients use...
See below;
It enables you to incorporate the Tweeter in the mounting.
These can be adjusted with belt sander or similar if you need to get rid of the angle , increase it or etc.
