hey everyone
atm i have 2 12" 600W cadence subs in my boot. they are secured into the boot by a flat piece of wood. and looks good.
the only thing is, when i have it on, i cant hear it at ALL outside of the car.
HOW would/ do you make the loud bass outside of car aswell as inside.
would you need a fully conseeled box? or what?
my subs arnt really concealed
( i no this thread may seem like its been done before but im not talking about facing them forwards or back, im talking about how to get a nice loud boom boom outside of the car and a good set up that will do that)

bass outside car is stupid it will get you a ticket

i kow ppl are gunna go wtf but if the bass is outside it means less inside so set it up so its inside not out side
thanks mate.
i didnt no that more outside equals less inside.
nd im not gonna have it blastin when i drive lol.
just at partys or when going out with mates for a bit of fun.
im not one of those, "LOOK AT ME I HAVE COOL STEREO" guys lol
I believe your problem is pretty simple cancellation. Even "free-air" woofers need some separation between the front and back of the cone (ie, the parcel shelf) to prevent the air compressed in front of the cone from being sucked straight around to the back, and vice-versa. This is the whole point of a speaker "baffle" (the board the driver is mounted to) - to prevent exchange of alternatively compressed and rarefied air from exchanging between the sides of the cone.
HOWEVER.... The point remins that if the bass is carrying well outside, then you're not getting the optimal performance inside. The other point is that most (not all...) woofers - especially high power units - are designed such that the "springiness" of the air trapped inside the box assists with the mechanical suspension of the cone - if they're allowed to "flog around" with no additional support they can be damaged. (and yes, this is even true in a sealed enclosure - you'd be amazed at how much pressure can still build up inside the cabinet, even though it's got a bloody great hole in it!)
I'd definitely recommend housing the woofers in a cabinet - you'll be doing them - and yourself - a favour.

yes a cabinet is a box.....Cabinet is the more technical term for them. Enclosure is even MORE technical.
Boxed cabinet enclosure FTW!!![]()
well eveyone, problem solved.
ive made myself 2 ported subwoofer enclosures, and it sounds great outside when boots up and great inside when boots down.
