    Default Amp/battery disconnection?

    Hey guys,

just wondering about something my friends were saying about vt's and that.
Apparently disconnecting the battery screws with a computer or sum settings or SUMFIN lol, and iw as wondering if i'd be fine. Ive done installations in my old corolla and shit, but iw as wondering what the go is with my VS commodore. I want to connect my amp to it, but obviously i must disconnect the negative on the battery, will this harm it in any way? thanks guys.

The Computer resets the fuel mixtures etc to standard... but will reset once driven.

This is a good idea to do anyway as if you do any improvement to Intake, Exhaust.. it allows the ECU to access the best setting etc... learn the best setting for the setup etc.

PS most EFI vehicles do this.

    Cheers

according to the vp book of words (from my bad memory), after the battery has been disconnected the IAC can take up to 2 mins to reset so it might run a bit strange.... dont forget that you will need your radio PIN.....

    True.....

It runs rough as it relearns the Map, fuel / air ratios etc... is advisable to reset if you upgrade the exhaust and or intake.

did you have the hu installed whilst you currently own the car? aftermarket headunits can be programmed to have a security pin, but unless the previous owner put the code in i think your safe. generally it is unlikely a security code has been programmed into it.

mmm, i dont know, i know the family that used to own the car, i should ask them, its only a cheap JVC hu, so i doubt it. I also have the book for the hu, doesnt say anything about security code.
