hi everyone, heres the link to my head unit i have purchased, i also got 6" speakers for back and 4" for the front, i havent installed the front 4" yet
although i can say just from hearing it with the new speakers in the back and the standard in the front the audio quality is really good,
so here's what i came to ask.
how do i rigg up a sub to headunit, ive been told by a friend i cant do it cause i need like rca outputs on my headunit which i dont have. is it still possible to wire up a 12" kenwood sub and amp?
i linked to my headunit and maybe someone who sees it may be able to help me out.
thanks alot, and if someone who explain everything like in normal talk cause im not technically minded like everyone here. took me a week to figure out what CAI meant![]()
with out seeing the back of unit it seems as though your mate is right. No RCA outputs means no 12" kenwood sub/amp.
Either get really good front and rear speakers or take it back and swap for cd player with rca outputs.
without sounding nasty - hope you didn't pay $289 for that......
got my panasonic single cd player 4 x 50w, det face, rca output, flip down face etc etc for $220 about 2yrs ago.
that sucks bad, and i cant take it back, i so wanted to rig up a sub
sorry dude!
why can't you return it?
present, also what is 1 preout?
cant i wire the sub upto the back speakers?
bugger - I'd ask the person who bought it for you for reciept just incase it doesn't work properly and need to take back to store for warranty repair - wink, wink.
not sure what they meant by preout would have to see it.
nah sorry man no good. sub needs to go throught an amp to get the lower frequency levels. requires power wire to amp, trigger wire from h/unit and earth wire. no good running off rear speakers as will just sound like normal speaker not subwoofer.
if people check out the link and read and understand the specs then they would see that it has listed 1 x pre-output. What does this mean? RCA OUTPUTS! Good god people, if you don't understand something don't give out advice on it. pr0n (nice name by the way) On the back of the headunit is one lonely pair of RCA Outputs. Yes, you can have a sub if that picture really is your headunit without any model changes.
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!
im going out to my car in the morning to pull my head unit out and see if it has rca outputs, but i dont think i seen any.
thats why i asked what 1 preout is
i got the box with me but i doesnt have a photo of the back
guess what, it does have rca, thanks alot guys, http://caodo.co.kr/spec/KENWOOD/KDC-MP333-SPEC.gif
now that i seen the photo it reminded me it does have them 2 rca ports of the back, thanks 12Volt king
you really are the king
im probally gonna go buy that 12" sub and amp next week now, and that wiring kit ,
12Volt --- what is a PREOUT again??? --- RCA ??? make you laugh doesn't it!!

The MP333 - is arlight for the money though it is a UNDER $200.00 unit and hence why it ONLY HAS 1 RCA (PRE-OUT --- for the GOOD GOD PEOPLE!!!)
As for the SUB control -- IT HAS NONE!!!!
As for the AMP REMOTE -- IT HAS NONE!!!!
As for the Disc STACKER Control -- IT HAS NONE!!!!
As for Number of RCA - Preouts -- IT HAS ONE!!!!
You would have better off for the money with a DEH-P4850MP or P5850MP

it only costs them 149$, i like kenwood, and maybe because my perents are on a budget, they cant just go out and buy a tip top 300$ system, and in our house its the thought that counts.
Not saying that ---- my apologise ---- but to expect it to run a amp remote lead and have 2 or 3 sets of RCAs is a bit much!!
Again -- no offense implied...
Just dont expect to much from a budget unit.
You got a good deal at the that price.

hi could sombody please help me ? i have a kenwood KDC-MP333 and its second hand and it dosnt have a plug on the end and i was wondering if anyone knows what colour wires are for the power? thanx![]()
mate you have bumped a thread from 2 years ago, usually headunits follow the following codes but not always
Yellow = 12v to battery must be always on ( keeps all your memorys ect )
Red = Connect to the acc circuit so the stereo turns off with the key
Orange = connect to headlight wiring so the unit dims when you turn your lights on ( doesnt have to be connected)
Black = Ground to a metal part of the car, make sure you clean off any paint ect
Blue = electric antenna
blue / white = amplifier singnal wire to turn them on
White / white+black = Left front speaker
Grey / Grey+black = Right front speaker
green / green+black = Left rear speaker
purple / purple + black right rear speaker
hope this helps you out
yeah i know, im only 16 i didnt know how to do much thank you so much you have helped me heapsthank you your the best
