i wanna run 2 amps instead of 1 and theres only one remote cable (little blue cable) what do i do there ?
Are you running them in Parallel e.g two amp to power one big huge!!! SUB of you are wanting to run say a 4 channel and Mono??
Also the HU would be handy as the JVC you can just run the subout line to the mono and the centre RCA to the 4 channel
The Blue wire is a trigger for the amps, so you can trigger both with the same blue wire.. may need to bridge the wire to the second amp... (extend)
The HU should have a seperate sub preout which will allow full control over your sub etc.
Cheers

Splice a bit more wire onto it.
The trigger wire is just +14volts (ACC) ITs nothing special
SO just add some more wire and run it to your other amp aswell.
aZk.
im just trying to run an amp to the splits in my doors an amp to the 6*9s on my parcel shelf and two amps to each sub in the boot.
so can i just split it as many times as i want as long as it turns the amps on ?
See this is why people should not speak without knowing the information.
I would splice the Trigger wire to a 16 Guage Trigger Cable such as
as if you do what"azkwazere"
has suggested and use the wrong type of cable then you loose the signal!!!

And run the new trigger cable to all of your amps in serial... meaning that when you get to the first amp... peel back part of the wiring cover to reveal the copper wire to allow good connection then do the same for all of the amps... of course the last one is a per normal.
This way you dont cut and bridge, cut and brigde and insures a GOOD CONNECTION so you dont have shorts, crappy connections to the triggers on the amps.
The Trigger wire is $2.70 per meter if you need some give us a yell as we stock it.

And this is why people who have no idea about car audio, should be selling it.
The remote trigger wire out of a headunit will be able to switch on 2 to 3 amps maximum.
If you want to run neons, and other stuff as well as switch on the amps a relay needs to be added in line which will stiffen the current output on the trigger cable from the head unit.
And there is no such thing as PARALLEL wiring two amps onto one woofer. Its called STRAPPING and it can only be done SAFELY with amps that are strapable.
y dont you just buy one big amp 2000w lol wud make it easier but thats if you want to spend more money??
hehe... ****'IN BAM!!!
took the words from my mouth.
dijm8: strapping is usually used if its more effective to use a couple of smaller amps than one HUGE one. smaller amps are easier to mount and the whole bit, plus 9 times out of 10 the cost for one 500Wrms amp will be more than 2 times the cost of 2 2500Wrms amps.
$2.70 p/metre......I don't know about that. Sound slike out and out daylight robbery to me.
I'm still using speaker wire for my remote cable
I will warn you though, HOTVS75 stated that the remote output will be able to switch 2-3 amps. Newer headunits can. Depending on it's age though it may not be able too. I fried the the remote output in an old headunit by trying to switch on three amps with it.
All headunits will fire twto amps but just becareful about loading multiples on there. This eissue can easily be rectified by using the remote wire to trigger a relay and the using the relay to fire the amps.
BUT in your instance, just a run a new wire from the remote input terminal on your old amp straight to the terminal on the new amp and hey presto, see, it really was a simply fix!
$2.70 a metre?! how can you justify that?
I have never fried a remote output on a headunit, so i cant really say.
2 amps to be safe you can easily run off the single remote wire. 3 is pushing it although it will do it.
Relay is your best friend if you wanna trigger more than 2 amps.
Sorry i didnt explain myself up the top a little better.
$2.70 per metre for trigger wire, JEESUS, what its got some magic fairy dust in it so it can make more power.
$2.70 Per metre will get some high quality speaker cable, not some pissy little trigger wire.
I wouldn't know what the output these days is on HU. I typically go straight for a relay as I'm always seem to be dealing in a minimum of 4 amps and god knows how many motors.
The typical output is between 200-300ma.
erm...200-300mA is the most current the HUs can put out? I thought that was the typical current required to switch on the amps power supply. Much like a relay.
i just cut a bit of remote wire long enough to go between the 2 amps, then the put the remote wire coming from the head unit into the connection of the 1st amp along with 1 side of the smaller remote wire, and then just put the other side of the remote wire that im using to join the 2 amps into the other amp. simple.
