hi, i just baught kenwood 4" speakers to replace my front speakers and after removing my front speakers i noticed that my new speakers will not fit propery because the old one have the brackets mounted onto them and the kenwood ones have 4 tabs comming off it. is there some sort of bracket i need or is there a trick to fitting the new ones in, i was thinking of packing under them with foam and just screwing in 1 screw but then if i go to loud they might rattle and sound craptastic.
any ideas?, also i just plugged the new front speakers in to test them and when i go past 28 on the volume the head unit lights dim really bad and the head unit turns off and turns back on and if u dont turn the volume down within like 0.05secs of it starting up again the head unit turns off and restarts again. the main thing i wanna do is get these new speakers fitted, i can live without going past 28 on the volume as that is pretty loud.
next week my 10" ZEBRA usa speaker and speakers box is comming. and i also buying like one of them cheapo 2500w power vox amps to power it. do i just buy a wiring kit and connect it upto the rca plugs on the back of my headunit?
most people bend the fourth tab out of the way and just use the other 3 to screw it down, thats wat i did on mine but they are a bitch to put there and i'd recommend VS door pods but if u already bought the speakers then go ahead.
what h/u is it?? maybe a wiring prob but sounds like a faulty h/u or overloading somehow
yes you will need a wiring kit, they range in price but i got mine for about $30 which includes everything for it, if your sure the rca's on the back of your headunit are for amplifier pre-outs then sure you wont have any problems.
