    Default What to do next?

If you haven't seen my ride thread then I'll fill you in. I'm in the process of Ruby's sound set-up and I've just made a start. What I've got so far is:

    Pioneer DEH-P5850MP Headunit
Alpine SPS-10C2 4" in the dash.
Sony Xplod XS-F693G 6x9's in the parcel shelf. (I know, not my first choice in speaker either, but they were a gift, and they'll do for now.)

So, I'm leaning towards 6" in the front doors for my next move, but I'm also thinking I should get an amp first.

What brands would be good and which should I do first? Prices would be great too!

sounds good. have you thought about getting a pair of splits for the fornt and putting the tweeters up the front in the dash so you dont have to run an amp??? the sound quality is much better than 6 inch 2 or 3 ways in the doors and 4 inches in the dash

id run the 6x9's off the amp, the splits or 2 ways into the rear channel on the head unit and the 4 inches off the front channel.
what 4 inches did you buy???? they sound a bit expensive lol

Ditching the 4" in favour of a set of 6.5" will make you go..... why the hell did I just spend $89 on a pair of speakeers that are too small for me?!

The component speakers far outway any pair of 4" speakers on the market. Check to see if CAFO has any that will fit your budget. Yes a fourchannel amp to run the components and your 6x9s will be nice as well
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!

They are only 30rms so nothing over the top... though it would not hurt to buy something decent to start with

    Gm7200F, MRV-F345 , EFX HD7004 etc

    Cheers

I only bought the 4" to replace the original ones. One had completely died and I was only running one on the stock stereo. I had spare money to burn, so I just grabbed them coz I knew I need them.

So, I still haven't had my question answered. Hehehe. I've decide an amp as my next move. What brand and model should I be looking at? Preferably round the $200 mark.

Oh, 12volt? Thanks your advice, what brand of 4 channel amp though?

Eeek!!! Ok, ok! No boss amp. I get it!!

I reckon I'll choose either pioneer or alpine, depending on whats around, and what prices when i go to get one sometime within the next few weeks.

So, 4 channel, what else should I be looking for in an amp that will be good for what I have, and what I most likely will get?

i would just run all that off ur Head unit 1st save ur money and buy something that the amps would bring out the sound better (not saying ur 4" speakers r crap just 6"or 6.5" would b better as mentioned above) ur Head unit alone would run them fine IMO

then u can go get some 6" splits 4 the fronts then the amp ur thinkin bout buying and then u can save 4 some 6x9s if they dont last.

If I really wanted I could spend $3,000 on an amp, but I'm not that silly. (Even if I did pay $89 for a set of 4"!! But they were soooo cute...) I only said $200 to try and get the answer I've been looking for, like what products and what rough price...

I reckon at the absolute max, I'd spend $350, maybe $400 if it was really worth it. Just depends whats around. Which I why I'm asking your help!

I want a good quality amp, that is suited for what I have, and what I will be adding. Thats no more that $400, and is of the Pioneer, Alpine and maybe kenwood depending.

Personally I dont think you could go past the EFX Pro HD7004 at the moment at $299 as they RRP$519.00

Though the Pioneer GM-6200F are a very good amp and about the same money $319.00

Or go a Rockford P450.4 $379.00 or could do you a Infinity 7541a for $379.00

    the list is endless

The Alpine are OK though over rated and they are not the high on the RMS~ compared to everything else... though we do stock them

I would through the KENWOOD idea in the bin before you even start as you will get sick of it clipping and going into standby.

The EFX are USA and 2 year warranty on them.. definately worth a look!
