yeah you hook the dark blue wire to the power side of the electric aerial and it sends away 12 volts to the motor and up she goes

Dont know how much information tere can be... as the Automatic Aerial Wire from the Head Unit Harness is BLUE and it is 250mA.

You need to connect it to your positive on the aerial.. it should be the only wire for the aerial!

It will automatically trigger the aerial if your radio is on... normally you need to have the accessory on to active the radio.

So if you have power to the radio then you will have power going to the trigger for the aerial.

With most of the HU and the JVC units

As soon as you it the source button and select say CD, DVD, Nav, Rear view camera then it will automatically trigger the aerial to close! -- go back down.

    Cheers

Ive been tryin 2 get the same answer on this forum 4 ages all ive got in reply thats worth knowing about is that the aeral will always b up if u use the remote/aeral wire (blue) unless u have a 2nd wire in the HU harness it wont go up n down wen the radio is only on like u want it. that 2nd wire cuts the power wen u switch it over 2 radio thats how they r supposed 2 work.

my only thing i can think of is 2 tap into that remote wire and run another wire with a switch and then u can turn it on n off urself kinda defeats the purpose of an automatic aeral lol but like u, u prolly dont wanna park ur car and have 2 push down the aeral manually like me haha?

My JVC head unit has 2 seperate wires - a blue one for the remote amp switch, and another blue (with white stripe?) one for the aerial. I pluggged that wire into the factory loom's aerial wire and it works fine - only goes up with the radio, and stays down for CD, DVD etc.

Some lower spec head units don't have a seperate aerial wire, just a trigger than can be used for amps, aerials and everything else. In that case, your aerial will be up whenever your head unit is on, regardless of which music source you are using.
