Hi... I'm a newbie to this forum and no doubt this has been covered before(!)... but couldn't find anything relevant, so be gentle. Am buying an LX8 Adventra and would appear no auxillary input on (NZ Model at least) Adventra in-built Blaupankt (I believe it is) audio system.... which I find amazing in this day and age on a high end car, but there you go.... what were they thinking.

Know I can put through FM transmitter or modulator easily enough, but.... want the best sound quality I can get! so was was wondering if anyone knows if I can bypass the CD player input and use that, and if so with who? (NZ audio stores and Holden here seem useless, but on the net (in the States) looks like it can be done.. even to the point of the steering wheel audio control butons integrating with the ipod for control also. (See below pasted from a site I found). Since writing this have now seen a couple of fixes posted from 'phreddy' and 'thelugg'... but options in NZ and one a bit more sophisticated that integrates as below?

"Imagine connecting your iPod to the factory radio in your car, without the hassle of an FM modulator or fumbling with the iPod controls. An iPod interface for your factory (OEM) radio provides a pure audio connection while allowing all the normal CD controls to operate your iPod. And if your vehicle is equipped with steering wheel audio controls, they'll work with the iPod too! Many factory radios will also display song information right on the radio's display. CarDomain has iPod interfaces for hundreds of vehicles so you're bound to find one of these handy iPod tools for whatever you drive.
If your vehicle has an aftermarket radio, check out our selection of Aftermarket Receiver iPod Interfaces."

Cafo's what kind of response is that. Sorry 1mart but that is an american website which has a huge market for ipod interfaces in their vehicles. Australia does not have factory ipod integration yet. unless its a bmw. The reason for this is because australia has a very small market. But you can hook up your ipod to your unit by using the phone speaker input and you will then have to use a seperate switch on the mute wire. I would not recomend as you won't be able to adjust bass and treble on your unit. Better of getting an alpine full speed unit or pioneer with a fascia kit. and a steering wheel control. It will cost a bit but you will have a lot better sound and the ipod controls through the unit.
Hey... thanks Luke0111!... agree with your phone circuit comment... I hear it would also mean would be mono, so definately out as an option... Phreddy's (Aussie car Audio) option of creating/fudging aux input is probably best at the moment in Aussie or NZ, and good on them for coming up with), but doesn't allow steering wheel paddles to work... spoke to cardomain.com in the states... (the equivalent holden car over there with the exact same stereo as australasia is the Pontiac GTO by the way (a Monaro)), but their interface doesn't cover this car (too Niche)... but read 'may or may not work'.... so talking to my local car audio store here in NZ, they are told Blaupaunkt have there own interface/aux kit for this holden model car stereo coming here (NZ) any week now, so will wait to see what they come up with before deciding... will let you know if any good. All up, poor effort by Blaupankt and Holden in this day and age in my opinion.... I expcted better on a flagship car....... but I'll get there, and aart from that, i love my Adventra. (I like my sounds too, and has to be the best quality I can get!).
