I haven't heard the new Kicker square subs, but from what i've heard from others they aren't the same quality as previous models. They may still go pretty loud, but might not sound the best. Have a look around at what else in that price range and AUDITION for yourself... There's alot of good products out there that you've probably never heard of![]()
i would go for the silver 350wRms kenwood subs (12") the go HARD!
also why not go an alpine type R?

k thanks for that im now it the process of looking for sumfin else anyfin really stand out around the same price range wif a decent amp
Really? I didn't know that. It's been a while since I've been really into the car audio scene... ever since my son was born almost 2 years ago I haven't had the time, money or boot space to have a system installed in my car.
But the sub I was using before (and still own now, it just sits here in the study collecting dust, waiting to one day be reinstalled in my car) was a 15" Kicker CompVR from "03. I was only feeding it about 350 WRMS and had it installed in a sealed box, but the thing sure had my car rumbling when turned up and it sounded nice and clean too. Good quality sub it is, can't wait to hear it once again.
But yeah I didn't realise that their gear had lessened in quality over the past 18 months, I would have still rated them quite highly.
Yes... really gone to the dogs.....
We got a couple of the New DD subs in this week and honestly we have seen better made CHINESE SUBS! ... we actually had one kicking about the warehouse and compared it to the DD it is almost identical... the quality on the new DD are not worth a pinch of SH@7.
Though I did think that DD was over rated to start off with and this now goes to show what they are doing... besides they NEVER have STOCK!!
in Australia anyway

I reckon DD are a top productthey don't cover their gear in shiny bits that mean nothing... Just wish I could afford a DD sub!

Now now, Joey
There is a huge difference between the 9900 or 9500 that Phil put up a photo up of and the 1000 series.
I am not saying the 9900 or 9500 are crap... I just stated that they bottom end is not as good as some people think and are inline with other manufactures and if you were looking at the Money for a 1000 series than there better quality subs around for the money.

Well, for the price difference you'd want the 9 series woofers to be a fair bit better! Looks like some posts have been deleted, so maybe i missed something but in your post there was no mention of particular models and you stated the build quality on the new DD's was "not worth a pinch of SH@7"... and now your saying that they are comparable to other manufacturers, hence the confusion. All good, so youd happily recommend the 95 series woofers as an alternative to - say T2 Rockfords?![]()

What a joke Car audio Factory Outlet
you are full of it hey i agree with phil u wouldnt even know a dd woofer if it hit you coz even the bottom range dd woofers would **** on ur RF t1 and 2
DD hold the WRs mate not ur ****ty crap and thats right ur not a DD dealer
~DDVT
Lets not get ridiculous here DDVT... We know youve pulled big numbers (for a sedan at least) with your DD's off jaycar monos IIRC, but have you ever used a T2 Rockford? Keeping in mind that DD is the King of SPL - and make a mighty good street banger too, but to suggest that a DD 512 ****s all over a T2 rockford is crazy! It demeans your own arguments.
Phil, CAFO is a parallel importer of some brands, so its not beyond the realms of possibility that he had a DD shipped in. Of course, we must remember that he is a SALESMAN and is naturally trying to sell what he stocks - he justs gets a little dramatic![]()
Cant we all just get along?![]()
I think we all agree (or at least most of us) that the 99, 95, and even 35 series woofers beat the T2 RF, below that? c'mon. Of course we'd expect it for the price differences. Peace and love people,

Seriously people... anyone who claims any brand is better than any other brand needs to take a serious look at themselves. Some manufacturers obviously specialise in higher quality drivers, but realistically for every day use, for the average person, they just don't need that.
The best advice anyone can give when choosing a speaker of any type is to go to a shop somewhere and listen for yourself. It is entirely a matter of opinion which brands sound better. One person might prefer Pioneer, one might prefer JL Audio, and another might prefer the crappy BOSS gear we all laugh at.
There are limits to that obviously... there is a reason BOSS does not hold an ounce of respect on here hehe.
