I want to get some new 6x9s. At the moment i have some pioneer 6x9s but they dont hold bass very well. They only costed about $100.
Anywy i want some 6x9s that can hold bass and sound well without it being distorted. I went to JB hifi to look at some. The guy there showed me some alpine 6x9s that sounded pretty good. He said they hold bass the best out of the brands. its this true??? I dont want to spend over $200. What other speakers can you recommend?
Thanks.

Check out some Kenwood KFC-M6950A 500w 5 way 6x9 speakers. Really nice bass and can be had for under $200.00. I can't believe how clear they are.
contact car audio factory outlet, he will be able to recommend you a pair.

You basically get what you pay for.
If you are pumping them then most of the 6*9 will distort due to the shape
6.5" or 6" would be the way to go. -- you can get an adaptor that will fill the 6*9 hole and allow for the 6 or 6.5" to bolt straight in. the adaptors are flush mount and use the 6*9 mounting points to hold in... then simply mount your speakers as normal
i would say you were looking at the TS-A6972E from pioneer and they are fine though only the "A" class speaker
You would need to go to a "D" class in the Pioneer range
If you are looking for quality in a 6*9 then the Infinity 9612i, or Pioneer TS-D691S though these may be outside your budget.

Just went looking at some speakers. I couldnt find any kenwood KFC-M6950A 500w 5 way 6x9 speakers. I could only find the KFC-M6935A. Does anyone know if they are any good. They are $129. At the moment i have pioneer TS-A6961E. I just want something better then them but not too expensive. Those pioneers only costed me $94. I had a look at some 6.5 inch speakers. But the good ones were way out of my price range. I think good ones were $799. And all the $200 6.5inch speakers didnt sound as good as the 6x9s.

If I were you, I'd wait a little longer till I could save a bit more cash to get a "good" set of speakers, rather than just getting something that little bit better than what you currently have because it's all you can afford. Trust me, it'll be great at first, but after a little while you will notice that they don't go as loud as you'd like, they start distorting too soon or they're not as good quality (sound quality wise) as you'd like. You'll then find yourself buying another set of speakers that are more expensive and wishing you'd just got them the first time around because now you've wasted $200 on a set of speakers you don't like anymore. Do it right the first time around and you'll save a lot of money.
Also just one tip when buying your new speakers... don't be fooled into getting the fancy "5-way" speakers because they have more "speakers", in this case, more is not better. Adding more driver's than needed to coax speakers is just a marketing gimmick to make a few extra dollars off the ignorant customers that don't really know a hell of a lot and think "yeah mate these 5-ways are fully sick compared to your ****ty 3-ways". It's a bit like people who buy BOSS amps thinking they're getting kick ass gear with heaps of power because they display huge figures like "2000 W!!" all over their ****, when really they're only producing a mere 20 Wrms! (Exaggerating much? Still, BOSS gear really is that crap!) So yeah anyway I'd be going for 3-ways over 5-ways to save a penny. Then again, they're your ears, not mine, and you're the one that has to listen to it every day so what ever pleases you is all that matters.
