    Default Can a amp be conected to the stock vy headunit?

    i hav recently bought a vy acclaim and would love to put a bit more bass in the boot and would like to know if the stock vy head unit has the connections for an amp
    much appreciated brent

    stock unit doesnt but ya can still add amp with low level inputs
    contact your local car audio shop they will show you

    You will need to convert the high level speaker outputs from your vy unit to low level raca inputs to your amplifier. Some amplifiers have a high level input which you would typically split from your rear speaker outputs on the vy unit.
    If the amp does not have high level inputs you can buy a speaker to line level converter. about 40 dollars

    Connect an amplifier without speaker-level inputs to a car stereo that doesn't have preamp outputs? It can be done, but you'll need a line output converter to make it happen

    You will need PREDDY's MOD or this does the trick as well

    go get a new hed deck its piss to install and you dont have to cut any wiring or anything if you buy all the correct bits.
    Did it to my SS and can change everything back to stock in about half a day with out any evidence left behind its gold.

    thanks guys yea i mite just go with a new head unit so i can play mp3 but i will miss my stearing wheel controls

    yes the stock unit can be modded to have rca's on the back. ask phreddy for details, he is a site sponsor.
