This one probably crosses over to electrical as well??
I have a panasonic Head deck and I have wired it in properly as per wiring diagram. Problem is Blue wire which goes to electric aerial now doesnt put aerial up when radio is selected??
With factory Head Deck when radio was selected aerial went up, when cd was selected aerial went down.
I disconnected the blue wire.
Now....
The aerial goes up but doesnt stay up, comes straight down again. That is operating it with the up/down switch on the dash, seperate to the sound system.
Is there a seperate fuse for the electric aerial??
If it was blown aerial wouldnt work at all would it???
The fuse in the fusebox for aerila is fine....
Any ideas please, I hate wiring hassles!!!

What I am thinkin is??
If I splice the blue amp wire into the electric aerial wire maybe this will make it work????
The wiring diagram says blue wire is for amp relay control power lead, and in brackets....motor antenna relay control...
Do I need to splice the blue wire into antenna as well, as it is only running to amp at the moment....

seems a little odd....what I would do is simply remove the blue antenna wire and simply wire the cars antenna wire to the amp wire. This will send the antenna up when you switch the HU unit and down again when th HU switches off. It won't matter what source is selected.
StoneX would have a better working knowledge of the interior workings of a HU then all of us. Hopefully he can shed some light on it. To me it almost sounds like the HU is sending out a pulse instead of a continous signal. In which case a latching relay would solve the issue...but on that same hand, if this was a common issue I'm sure I would've known about it by now so thats why I say StoneX....but then again, I could be about to learn something new...or relearn something I've forgotten in my time away from Commodores and power antennas.
