VZ head unit

has anyone bought a new head unit (alpine or other) for their vz. can you use the steering wheel mouted buttons to operate the unit like the stanard one. did you buy a double din or single? i have sat nav as stanard, it sits below the head unit? does anybody know where you can buy updated map cds for it?

i have a blaupunkt mp66 single din and the steering wheel controls still work, just had to have a interface made so it would work, (most pro car audio shops can do this) otherwise cheaper shops sell an infrared unit
