    Default Not enough power?

Hey my speakers sound heaps good when volume is low, But as soon as i turn the volume up, the bass distorts. I decided to fade one of the speakers out, and now it sounds awesome at high volumes. When i have only one speaker running, it sounds heaps better then when i have them both running.

What could be causing this? could there be a problem with the wiring behind the stereo? Would changing the speaker wires help because i think they are still the original factory speaker wires. Is it realy worth buying the O2 free speaker wire? or is normal speaker wire the same. Cheers

Does it come better if you go one at a time, or it just a specific speaker?

I would recommend changing the wire anyway, factory stuff isnt the best quality..

Just one at a time. No specific speaker. They both crank at the same quality, Its just sounds better if only one is going at a time for some reason. At the moment i may as well just have the one 6x9 because it is louder and clearer with just the one running

Fixed the problem All i had to do was switch the wires around on one speaker because they were the same phase or something and it was canceling the bass out. Now it sounds heaps good. Thanks for your reply

Yeah if they are wired in opposite polarity then your speakers will cancel each other out. While one speaker is pushing out, the other is pulling in... so the sound waves they produce are not in sync. Anyway it's good that you found the problem and fixed it... I'm sure it makes you happy anyway!
