    Default dvd player

    hey all,

i just brought a dvd player for the car and was wondering bout the wire u hook up to the brake, im guessing it would be to pause the screen when the brakes are not on and unpause when brakes are on.

what i am wondering is can u just not hook that wire up so the screen is playing all the time, any info would be great.

    thnx Ben

if your talking about the handbrake wire, just ground it to the cars body, just like you do with the ground to power the headunit. you usually have to connect this to your handbrake so that when the handbrake is up you can watch movies and when its down you cant. ive grounded mine and i can watch movies n **** while i drive. hope this helps!

just make sure that if you are watching a movie or have the screen out while paying music and see a cop then hide the screen and just say its an mp3 player.
A mate of mine has the touch screen pioneer screen in his Vs and he hides it every time he comes across a cop.
And yeah its just a ground wire so connet it to the car body and it'll work the way you want it to

Not sure on insurance but with mine i put in a 3 way switch up under the dash that only i can get to (if cops are seen or pink slips)

in one postion the headunit its connected to the handbrake and the movie still plays but there is no visual on the screen when the handbrake is on flick the switch to the other side and its connected straight to earth so that the screen works normally

Using that diagram, wouldn't the handbrake light come on whenever you leave the switch on? Or does the switch isolate the handbrake wire from the grounded wire?
