cheap h/u

hey im just looking for a cheapish headunit for around 200 or cheaper that will have an amp out (for 2 amps) and let me have an ipod cable plus have 4x50 watt and a plus if i can get one be able to play dvd's so down the track i can put in a skreen in my car

You're asking a bit much for $200. That amount will only really get you a simple unit. You might get lucky and find something second hand though?? Just shop around.

If i was u id set ur budget at least $500 4 it 2 do the things u want plus if ur wanting 2 add stuff later on down the track ur best off buyin somthing decent as ur head unit will run pretty much ur whole system so spending most of ur budget on that isnt a bad idea hey u wont regret it in the long run

Damn man... thats extreme! lol..... all that for $200? you must be good at haggaling! lol..... on sale at JB you can get everyhting you want (-DVD) for about 200 - 250 depending on your salesman ship.... you want dvd???? start saving man, 200 aint gonna cut it.

As mentioned earlier... Make the HU your GOOD BUY. It (in most cases) will be the center piece of you system so it should be decent and have good features.

The JVC $299 head units w/ DVD capability can be found for that price around JB Hifis...

However I would have bought a $200 Alpine entry level MP3 player and started with that. Sound quality is where its at with head units.

a low end alpine Vs a jvc/pioneer/kenwood what ever is all the same. if your spending only $200 or so on a h/u then you will be spending about that on speakers and you will not hear a difference in SQ.
if you want to catch out stuff like the actual SQ of a h/u then start looking in the thousands for speakers.
