Default UpGrading Ground Points in a VT

I am very interesting in upgrading my grounds in my VT, i would like to upgrade from battery to Chassis and battery to alternater, how would i go about doing this? The ground wire from the battery appears it dosent goto the chassis it just splits off and goes near the engine some where? (maybe its grounded to the engine) I will be using 1/0 guage wire... any ideas? help? or tips? Help much appreciated.

ok well if you are doing the batt to alt, then you need to do the other half being the engine block to chassis earth.
ok you can use crimps with a special crimping tool used for the larger ring terminals or just get soem of the terminals with the grub screw. should be around $5 each.
its just like your amp ground/s, sand back to bare metal, screw the ring terminal down and silicon over the top to stop corrosion. have the wire as short as possible, dont think that needs ferther explaining.
also kink, whats your power wire guage? its not 0/1 is it? the larger sized wire the more the terminals go up in price (exponentially almost!).
    questions?

kink: you seriously have a system that needs 0ga? just run the sized wire equal to the power, no reason for 1/0 for the grounds.
EDIT: your amps have 4x20amp fuses in each alpine. so, max current would be say 70amps. so thats 140amps total plus say30 for the 2 channel sony. should have saved your money and bought 2ga!
so my point is that there is no way in hell you will need anything larger than 0ga for grounds or power.

wrx: 8ga just needs normal crimps, no special tool. i was talking about wire >8ga.

garfa: I have 0 guage running into a distro block for my amps, i thought 0 guage for my sound system would be a must, nothing smaller...i plan on running another amp as well of that wire, which i planned for? So you think 0 guage was overkill for my system? (not trying to have a go) i was told by many ppl that i should be running 0 guage at LEAST nothing smaller

also, i bought my 0 guage in bulk at less then $10 a meter, lol cheaper than 2 guage.

lol at thicker then 0ga. Whats smaller then0? 00...000....or FTW 0000ga

Why are you upgrading the ground from your alternator to the battery?! Have you seen the size of the alternator ground cable(sic)?

If you are using 0ga for your stereo but haven't used it to beef up the battery to chassis. Then Garfa is right, it was totally overkill as you aren't evening using it to 8ga potential. Beef it up and you will notice results.

Look into upgrading the BIG THREE thats more sensible. Although a little overkill as well at times.

Diggin the grave here, but where can you get 0 gauge for $10 a meter??? I could use a 2nd run... And i use a vice to crimp 0 gauge terminals, works fine

EDIT: Shiiit, got excited and upon reread discovered he bought in bulk, so How many meters did you have to buy for that price? Could always sell the excess i spose

Just go down to a battery place - battery world, local batteries - companies like that and tell them what you want. They will put the crimps on the wire and cover the terminals with heatshrink for you. If you are trying to crimp with a hammer or something, you are going to be bringing problems to the car. A bad crimp is the same as using wire as thick as a strand of hair. I would only go from battery to ground. There is no need to spend big money on wire. The shorter the distance the better. Alot of people here are going overkill. It is not going to improve the performance of anything unless something is really wrong.
