Clarion Amp Setup

hi
i have a boss amp which i want to use to run my 6" fronts and 6"x9".
the problem is that there is only two RCA outputs from my Sony headunit and there is four inputs on the amp.

how do i connect up the amp so that i can use all four channels?

edit:just noticed that i put clarion in the heading.the amp is a Boss.

generally when u run ampS and stuff in your car u need to get a headunit with 3RCA output.............

yeah i know.
but im a uni budget which means that i need to make do with with what ive got. i picked up an amp off a mate for really cheap and i just want better SQ outa my my el-cheapo setup and wiring up the amp was confusing as havent had much to do with amps. i wish i could afford a new H/U but i cant.

Just get a couple of "Y" cables (a single female socket running to two plugs) - at the amp end, connect these between the ends of your RCA leads, so it splits out as two left and two right channels. You won't have a front/rear fader function, but at least you'll get all four channels of the amp being driven.

I had the same set up in my old magna hahaha miss the old girl the HU only had 1 pre out but i had 2 run the 2 Y spliters 2 amp up front and rear 6x9's then had another 2 ch boss amp 2 run a 12" sony xplode (see my ride was in the VT 4 a month) till i upgraded best budget if u just want doof doof and dont care bout SQ as they pump just as loud as most

oh btw boss amps rnt all that great just keep an eye on em from time 2 time they have a tendancy 2 get faulty tho in sayin that my amps n sub is in a cuz's car same reason and still goin hard quite funny really wen u hear stories from other ppls boss stuff up lol

yeah i know boss amps arent very good or reliable but this one will do until i can save up to get a jaycar responce amp.im not after excellent SQ, just better than stock.

Left channel for front speakers split to channel 1 and 2. Right channel for sub output bridging channels three and four. RCA splitters are under $10 each.

Make sure your sub is running at 4ohm also... those boss amps dont like 2ohm loads much, easy to fry them.
