ok well the door switch is pretty much just a pin switch, so if you pull it out you will see where the contact is wires onto. just solder a trigger wire to that and have that going to a plain automotive relay (will not need to be anything over 5-10amps). then just wire it all up as usual. now for the toggle switch just wire it so that it bypasses the relay. also remember to fuse both the relay and the toggle depending of it you run a positive for both the relay and toggle or splice into the relay's positive.
i know its VERY rough and ready but it will do till you learn how to wire it all properly.

well have the switch wired in parallel to the relay. so when you turn the switch on the power goes 'around' the relay. sort of with me?

WTF? relays? how complicated do you want to get!

Simple... Run earth to door earth, door opens, neon goes on.

Run positive through switch to battery(Fused).

Switch On + Door open = neon works
Switch Off + Door open = neon dont work

Scroll up and read the first post and find out what he is actually trying to do.

Relays should ALWAYS be used when adding accessories to original wiring in a vehicle.

all a relay is is something that uses a small current to switch a big current.
so you do not really want your starter motor current running throught the ignition barrel because the wire would need to be VERY big so you use a relay.
