    Default Not saving audio settings?

hey everyone having a problem with my head unit..
its not saving my audio settings (Bass, Treble, Sub, Midrange etc) when i turn the car off and on, i have to redo all my settings.
also whenever i turn my car on, my head unit comes on Standby, and i have to change it to CD/USB/Radio or whatever i want to listen to.
but it still saves my radio station presets.. so i dont know whats going on
thanks in advance for any help.

12v and accessory wire around the wrong way, just change the red and yellow ones around.
and maybe the reason it saves the radio station is because it has an internal backup battery.

R Photon, it doesnt matter which headunit cause like 99% of all headunits use the same wiring colours.

i thought all the settings were saved off constant power, but im not an expert in this area so it could have an internal battery

turn the head unit off when you turn your car off.. that can actually be pretty handy if you want music when the cars off you dont need to put accessories on you just turn it on

Faulty head unit perhaps? Is there a troubleshooting guide in the manual?

I always run a new positive power wire to the battery... then find an ACC wire source from the original wiring. Make the positive power wire black also, if you want it unnoticeable in the engine back.

VK_308 Sorry to say that it IS a faulty headunit, seems something happened inbetween R&R. Live with it or replace it.

well im not very good with wiring is it possible i've put 2 accessories wires instead of one accessories and one 12v? or would it not even power up then?

it worked perfectly fine in my old car the same day i put it into my new one ...

You see, the reason I can tell you it's not the wiring is simply because it's remembering the radio presets. If it doesn't have constant power to it, it won't hold the audio settings like it's doing but it also won't hold radio stations which it's doing.

If you had your wiring mixed up, then it wouldn't even remember them. But you see, it's remembering something.

I'm sorry, but I don't have anything else to tell you. The only other thing I could think of is perhaps a setting in the CD Player itself.

Maybe StoneX might be able to provide some insight but I've never heard of wiring causing an issue like this.

That is part of the scan process, it automatically stores them once it has found them. Once you turn your key off does it lose those presets and then needs to scan again? Try running a separate fused wire from your battery to the memory(yellow) wire and see what happens.
