VK Calais Dash Speakers

Hey everyone,

I'm turning 18 very soon and have just recently purchased a VK Calais. The stereo system is prety crappy to say the least, and I'm looking at putting in a new system.

The car is currently in the mechanic getting a roadworthy so I am unable to check, but I was told the dash will only fit 3" speakers. I was unable to find any good quality 3" speakers, it seems the smallest size for a decent set are only available in are 4". Keep in mind that I am not to keen in ripping into my door trims.

I was just wondering if someone could confirm that they are in fact 3", if so has anyone done any modifications to fit 4" speakers. Also, if anyone knows of a store relativle close to Gippsland side of Melbourne that would sell good 3" speakers.

i went through this same thing with my calais attempting to fit 4" speakers, the standard ones are 3". i ended up buying a set of vr/vs doorpods and put some 6 1/2" splits in the door.

without sounding like a sales person, have you looked at the Rainbow 3.5" clip ins which are designed for mercedes? they could possibly fit your application.
